In 2004, while browsing in my husband’s recording studio (singer/songwriter “Wil”), I noticed his waste bin was full of used guitar strings. For the past 15 years he had earned a mighty reputation for his enigmatic, energetic guitar string breaking performances. It just never hit me until looking in that bin, how many strings he had used and was about to throw away....
That night in bed the artist in me began dreaming up ways of making bracelets out of Wil’s busted strings. With the help of my two sisters, we began developing bracelet prototypes and in the fall of 2005 I started selling them at his concerts. The response to our jewelry was overwhelmingly positive. Since then, the original ibreakstrings ™ line has blossomed and flourished. With the encouragement of our fans I have launched this website to make ibreakstrings ™ jewelry available online.
Each piece is individually handcrafted and will come with a tag hand signed by the family based artist who created it. Your unique piece will be made from authentic recycled guitar strings broken by “Wil” at his concerts and recording sessions.
